Where will my massage session take place?
Your massage will take place in a comfortable, quiet room in our West Belconnen North-side home-clinic. Soft music will be played to help you relax as you lie on the padded warm massage table. You will be provided with hot towels to remove excess oil during and at the conclusion of the massage.
What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?
You will also be asked some general questions to establish what areas you would like your massage treatment to focus on, and if there are any conditions that need to be addressed.
What do I wear during the massage?
Usually you will just wear your underwear on the massage table and be covered with a towel, except for the area being worked on. You will be given privacy to dress/undress before and after the massage.
What do I do during the massage session?
Your massage provides you with an experience to deeply relax and totally unwind, so make the most of your opportunity. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a massage, while others prefer to chat. It’s up to you, however if you have any questions or queries at all during the massage session, do not hesitate to ask your therapist, she will be only to pleased to answer all of your questions.
How long will a massage treatment last?
The average massage treatment lasts approximately one hour.
How will I feel after the massage?
Most people will feel completely relaxed following there massage session. After an initial period of feeling deeply relaxed, what generally happens soon after is usually a feeling of increased energy and productivity. Our clients often report that after a massage their sleep patterns and general health improve, it is also noted that there is also a marked reduction in pain and stiffness in the musculoskeletal system. Many experience a level of freedom from the aches and pains developed over time as a result of repetitive strain or activity. Your body will release toxins during a massage so it is recommended that you drink plenty of water after your massage. You will be provided with a glass of filtered water after your session.
Is a massage always appropriate?
It is important that you disclose to your therapist prior to your massage any medical condition you may have that can rule out a massage treatment. It is however rare that a particular condition can be aggravated using massage. If you have any concerns at all you are welcome to call and discuss anything you want to know with our therapist to make you feel more secure and reassured before you make your booking. If you are under medical care, please ask your medical doctor for a written recommendation prior to the massage and bring this with you to your appointment.
